Margaret Eugenia “Genie” Bailey, 94, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, November 23rd comfortably. Services will be at 3:00 pm Friday, December 2nd at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will not be available.
Genie was born on January 13, 1928 in McKinney, Texas to Dr. Lewis Hoard, and wife Mac Hoard. She spent her childhood growing up in McKinney where she developed many lifelong friend with her school mates. After graduating from high school she attended TCU and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in accounting. With degree in hand she moved to Midland to begin her career. Shortly thereafter she met her husband to be, M. Brown Bailey and they were married on December 27, 1954. Together they built a life in Midland and it was not too long after that they started a family with the birth of three sons. In-between raising a family she would make time to enjoy her passion for swimming, loved to travel and always supported her TCU Horned Frogs and the Dallas Cowboys. Many years she spent her spring, summer and autumn at her cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Genie is survived by her three sons, Marcus Bailey, Rodney Bailey and Matt Bailey and four grandchildren, Travis Bailey, Dillion Bailey, Kristy Williams and Elizabeth Bailey-Arnold.
Genie is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mac Hoard, and her husband Brown Bailey
