Marcos Chavera, 52, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Midland Memorial Hospital. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Deacon Johnny Arguello of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.He was born on January 1, 1955, in Frio County, Texas.Marcos was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a farmer. He liked to dance and work in the garden and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Manuela Rivas of Big Spring; four sons, Manuel Chavera, Billy Chavera, Fabian Chavera, and Marcos Chavera, Jr.; two daughters, Ortencia Hernandez and Criselda Chavera; six step children; 29 grandchildren; two brothers, Rodrigo Chavera and A.C. Chavera; and six sisters, Yolanda Gutierrez, Mary Louisa Gutierrez, Irene Flores, Gloria (Chavera) Guiardo, Erminia Chavera, and Chelo (Chavera) Rodriquez.He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Albert Chavera.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
