Mamie Lee Perrin Roten, 86, of Stanton, died on Thursday, December 22, 2011, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M, Monday, December 26, 2011, at First Baptist Church with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the funeral home. She was born on February 14, 1925, in Red River County, Texas, and married Robert Louis Roten on August 7, 1942, in Clarksville, Texas. Mamie came to Stanton in 1942, and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church from 1965 to 1984, and served the Martin County Hospital as an Administrator from 1967 to 1984. Mamie also served in the Martin County Senior Citizens Center, serving on the Senior Citizens Foundation Board, and for the Old Sorehead Trade Days. She retired in 1990, from the Stanton National Bank and enjoyed music, reading, and travel. She was a member of First Baptist Church Stanton since 1945. Survivors include her husband, Robert Louis Roten of Stanton; two sons, Rodney Roten of Midland and Robert Roten and wife Patty, of San Marcos; one daughter, Rhonda Gilliland of Midland; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews; 7 grandchildren in law, 4 great grandchildren in law. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Thomas J. Perrin, Jr., Melvin Belcher, and Lawrence Belcher; and a sister, Mary Virginia King and 3 nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Library, P.O. Box 1168, Stanton, Texas 79782 or Martin County Senior Citizen Center, P.O.
