M. A. Cockrell

M. A. Cockrell, 91, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, June 18, 2000, in Big Spring. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Trinity Memorial Park with Larry Marshall, minister of the Knott Church of Christ, officiating. The family will recieve friends from 7 to 8 P.M., Monday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. M. A. was born on March 2, 1909 in Hill Co., Texas and married Allie Hilliard on February 8, 1929 in Knott, Texas. He had lived in the Knott community from 1928 to 1996 when they moved to Big Spring. Mr. Cockrell farmed for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Sand Springs Church of Christ. Survivors include: his wife, Allie Cockrell of Big Spring, one son, Spot Cockrell of Big Spring, one daughter, Gwen Rogers of Big Spring, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Wayne Cockrell in 1988, Bobby Lynn Cockrell in 1992, his parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
