LYNN WALLACE BASSLynn Wallace Bass, 92, of Midland, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018.She was born on September 16, 1926 to Karl Edward & Camille Shield Wallace in Coleman, TX. Lynn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from TCU and a Master’s degree in Social Work from UT Arlington. She was ever a student of life and never bypassed an opportunity to learn something new and amazing. She and Frank Randolph Bass, Jr. were united in marriage one August evening in 1952 in Port Arthur, TX, where she had been employed as a social worker. Off they went for a honeymoon in New Orleans – eventually making Midland, TX their permanent home in April of 1954. There followed 49 years of wedded bliss that lasted until Frank’s death in 2001. She is survived by son Randol Alan Bass of Austin, TX, as well as daughter Rebecca Lynn Bass and grandson Travis R. Smith – both of Houston, Texas. Her siblings were Beryl W. Wilkinson, Karl E. Wallace, Bruce E. Wallace, Wayne E. Wallace and Mildred N. “Niki” Smith. Lynn was quite a character, full of Texas spirit, strength and tenacity … and was someone who never missed a chance to help a friend (or stranger) in need. She never shied away from an opportunity to converse about something meaningful, to contemplate the wonders of the world (whether familiar or unfamiliar), to travel to a foreign land or to share a meal of Indian food with anyone who was willing. She also never passed up a bridge table and never, ever missed that weekly hair appointment. Her generosity knew no bounds and the majority of her professional and personal lives was spent in service to others. She was a caring mother, grandmother and dear friend to many, and her family is comforted that she is now at peace and beyond the reach of all Earthly cares. A Celebration of Life and Love will take place in her honor on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home (3800 Big Spring, Midland, TX). In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Community Children's Clinic of Midland, TX or to a nearby hospice service. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.,
