Lula Mae Sale, 96, of Midland, formerly of Stanton, died, Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Midland. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Rev. David Harp officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.Lula Mae was born March 29, 1920 to L. L. and Zilla (Lee) Bassham in Colorado City, Texas. She married J. C. Sale April 24, 1937 in Stanton. He preceded her in death June 13, 1968.She moved to Stanton in 1936 and was a loving wife and mother. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She took great pride in the ranch and worked along side her husband until his death. She loved to work in her yard and in her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanton where she taught Sunday School and Training Union as well as a member of WMU. She will be greatly missed.Lula Mae is survived her daughter, Marilyn Newman and husband, Tommy of Stanton: four grandchildren, Kevin Newman and wife, Mandy of Stanton, Kody Horwood and husband, Lonnie of Sterling City, Monica Casady and husband, Chris of San Antonio, and Crysti LaRocca and husband, Bart of Tyler; and thirteen great grandchildren, Dakota and Flint Newman, Tristan Himes, Katlin, Carly, Tate, and Trisha Horwood, Mary Grace and Garrett Casady, and Nick, Savannah, Victoria, and Anthony LaRocca.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert K. Sale; grandson, Kendall Newman; her parents; six brothers; and five sisters.The family wishes to thank the Manor Park staff and nurses, Home Hospice, and Comfort Keepers for their kindness shown to Lula Mae while she was in their care.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
