LaVella Briggs, 83 of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.

LaVella Matthews was born on May 17, 1939, in Murry, Utah to Preston and LaVella Matthews. She had a bachelor of arts and a master’s in Education. LaVella lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 40 years and in Spain for 4 years. She was a school teacher for 25 years and a piano teacher for 50 years. LaVella was active in the LDS church and was a beautiful person and friend to all who knew her.

LaVella is survived by her children: Melvin Briggs, Lawana Inman, and Candice Escamilla. Her grandchildren: Randy Inman, Breanna Squire, Kayla Inman, and 5 great-grandchildren. Her sister: Rhea Kiisel and many Nieces and Nephews

LaVella is preceded in death by her husband Robert Briggs, her parents, grandparents, and sister Lawana Martin

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Heart to Heart Hospice, Polo Park Retirement Community, Brookdale of Midland, and many friends and loved ones who helped her through this process.
