L.V. Welch, 90, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating.L.V. was born on September 17, 1925 in Lamesa, Texas to Franklin Plummer Welch and Mary May Moore Welch. He was in the Navy with the CB’s Battalion with USNCB 146, U.S. Milt. Gov’t. Unit, Okinawa from 1943 to 1946. He came back to Tarzan, Texas and farmed until 1979 when he retired from farming and went into the oil business with his son, Mike until 1983. L.V. was on Grady School Board, Tarzan Gin Association, and other numerous activities.L.V. was a kind man with a sweet kindred spirit and was very knowledgeable of farming and anything you asked him about, he could give you a knowledgeable answer.He is survived by his son, Larry Michael “Mike” Welch and wife, Bekki and granddaughter, Sabrina Rees (husband, Brian Rees); daughters, Izzabella and Kailen; grandson, Scottie Welch (wife, Holli) and their sons, Peyton and Jackson; granddaughter, Terri Killenen and her daughter, Bethany; stepsons, Rodney and Ronald Brown; stepdaughter, Rebecca Rohr; four step grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.The family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
