Karen Michelle Long, 60, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Golf Course Road Church of Christ.

Karen was born on January 19, 1961 to Barbara Sue and Leslie Eugene Long in Dallas, TX. She grew up in Edgewood, TX and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1980. Karen moved to Midland in 1981 and received her Associates Degree from Midland College in 1991. She then went on to UTPB where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Phycology in 1995. Karen enjoyed coloring adult coloring books. She was a member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ. She loved life. She liked to take pictures of clouds and landscapes, especially mountains. She collected stamps, swans, clowns, and beanie baby stuffed toys. She loved to make mixed cds of music. She could always find something good to think about when she got down in the dumps.

Karen is survived by her mother, Barbara Long; sister, Brenda Long Hershey; nephews, Declan, Ethan and Eoin Hershey; niece Rachelyn Hershey Copeland and her husband, Steven; great nieces and nephews: Misty, Lucas, Addison, Benjamin, Jayden and Sawyer Copeland.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leslie Long.

Im so sorry to hear about Karen. She was a classmate of mine at Edgewood high school in Edgewood tx. She was such a sweet person. May you rest in peace . Karen all your pain is gone now. Prayers for your family. 🙏🙏🙏class of 1980.

We pray that our Lord, the Most High God, will bless your family with the peace and comfort of knowing that Karen is now at rest and free from all pain.

Always such a sweet spirit. i will miss her hugs, but realize she is now at total peace experiencing the presence of God!! Blessings.

Will always have fond memories of Karen and her mom Barbara during our time at GCR. We were in Prime Timer's together, they sat right behind us and we had some good conversations together. She always asked me about my little dog Cooper and I always inquired about her beautiful puppy. She will be missed. Go rest with God sweet sister in Christ, your troubles and toils are done and you are home. We love you always.
