I was in a home across from where this accident happened. I went down to see what I could do. The EMT where there in minutes, and treated the accident as if it was their own family. I cried all night, thinking of the family, ( as I have lost a child). The next day, a barge came to lift the boat. At the same time a rain shower came, and a rainbow covered the area, as if God, said it's OK, Karah can move on, and we will follow. That is how I got through. We will all meet later. She seemed to have been a wonderful person and will truly be missed.

My heart breaks for you and there are no words to heal that pain. God will comfort you, just keep your faith in him. Our prayers are with you....Kristin, Jake, Eddie and Carolyn Quine

Karah was always a revelation and an inspiration. To know her personally was to be always in the presence of a deeply generous and profound spirit. She was a great beacon for all those who care about loving, living, and faith. A very sad day for the many who loved her. Physically she has left us far too soon, but the memory of her will guide us for years to come. We extend our deepest sympathy to her loved ones.

Christie Skinner DeWitt left a message on July 20, 2010:
Kellye,Kevin and family. Words and actions can't begin to ease all the pain you are going through. I didn't know Karah, but through your stories and pictures i could tell she was an amazing young lady. By seeing her smiles in all the pictures you could see how warm and caring she was. I could see that her parents raised a very caring and loving young lady. I can't begin to know the pain and the heartache you are going through. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know i only went to Kermit my senior year, but Kermit is a small town, just know i am here for y'all any time of the day or night. I wish i could do something to ease your pain, but i know there is nothing i or anyone else can do to ease that pain. I know y'all will do just as good a job with Madden. Telling him everything about his beautiful mother. Showing him pictures and telling him stories. He will also be an amazing strong person because of y'all. God will help you through this along with all your family and friends. We don't have the answers to why, but we have to remember there is always a reason. Karah is a beautiful angel now and she will shine like a bright star in Heaven just as she did on earth. God be with you now and the days to come. Keeping you and your family in my heart and prayers. God Bless. Christie Skinner DeWitt
