Judy Faye Dorsey Buckingham left this world to begin her eternal life in Heaven on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 with her loving family and devoted caregiver by her side.Judy was born on December 30, 1942, in Midland, Texas to Mark and Judy Dorsey. She was a member of a pioneer Midland County family – her great grandparents were Zachary Taylor and Sara Brown and her grandmother was Sarah Brown Dorsey.Judy graduated from Reagan County High School in Big Lake, Texas in 1961. She graduated from Texas Technological College, now Texas Tech University, in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. At Tech Judy was a member of Gamma Phi Beta, and served as first vice president for that sorority. She also held the position of secretary for the Women's Residence Council and was a member of the Association of Childhood Education. In 1990 Judy earned her Master of Education degree from Sul Ross State University. Judy devoted much of her life to the education of children and taught at Lamar Elementary and St. Ann's School in Midland and at Pease Elementary and San Jacinto Elementary in Odessa. In 2003 she retired after 24 years of dedicated service in the field of education. Judy was a proud member of the Texas State Teachers Association and the Retired Teachers of Midland. Judy was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church as well as a member of the St. Ann's Altar Society.Judy met the man of her dreams, Charles "Rusty" Buckingham in Midland, and they were married at St. Ann's Catholic Church on June 12, 1965. Judy and Rusty spent 47 wonderful years together in Midland where they built a home and a business, raised a family, and loved their community.Judy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eddie Dorsey. She is survived by her husband, Rusty Buckingham, and her sister Diann Dow and husband Don, all of Midland; her daughter Brandy Purcell and husband Cory of Colorado Springs, CO; her son Matthew Buckingham and wife Julie of Midland; grandson Blake Deanda and wife Kimberly of Colorado Springs; grandson Zachary Purcell and granddaughter Sarah Purcell of Colorado Springs; grandsons Mark Buckingham, Jacob Buckingham, and Andrew Buckingham of Midland; and great granddaughter Haven Deanda.Judy was an incredibly loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She touched so many lives with her kindness and beautiful spirit, and she will be deeply missed.Her family wishes to express sincere gratitude to her caregiver Yvette Rodriguez and the staff of Loving Care Providers for their devotion and compassion.Memorials in Judy's honor may be made to the Michael J.
