Juanita Rodriguez-Whatley, 87, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Walter McCall, chaplain with Odyssey Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.A rosary will held at 7:00 PM Friday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.She was born on June 23, 1920, in Big Spring, Texas and married R. L. Whatley in El Paso, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1986.Juanita was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and had been a housekeeper for the Groebl family for thirty-five years. She had also worked at Walkers Laundry and at the Union Pacific Railroad roundhouse in machine maintenance.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Survivors include three sisters, Aurora Harris of Odessa, Annabelle Huante and Marie Lopez both of Big Spring; two brothers, Jimmy Rodriguez and Ignacio Rodriguez both of Big Spring; niece and caregiver, Debbie Rodriguez and husband, Ron Jones and many other nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by her parents, Chon and Natividad Rodriguez; seven brothers, Gustavo Rodriguez, Rudolpho Rodriguez, Albert Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Ralph Rodriguez and Benjamin Rodriguez and two sisters, Zenida Pineda and Elena Ruiz.
