Juanita Lewis, 90, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, September 9, 2022 at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Juanita, or Sweetmaw as was known by all, was born November 3, 1931 to Mattie and Herman Wright in Glasscock County, Texas. She married Milton (Rip) Lewis February 7, 1948 in Big Spring. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. Juanita was affiliated with Birdwell Lane Baptist Church for over 80 years and more recently was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her passion was church and God was number one for her and her family, to which she instilled the Christian foundation. She was a beautician for over 50 years. She was a fantastic cook which made her home always a welcoming scent. It was a tradition that everyone would gather in the kitchen to help while she was cooking. She enjoyed sewing and partaking in anything crafty. She had many talents and was loved by everyone that met her.
She is survived by one daughter Lea Gray and her husband Patrick and one sister Barbara Cole; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Rip” Lewis, two daughters: Janell Williams and Cheryl Beeson; one grandson, Brad Williams and two great grandchildren, Dalton and Peyton Harbour.
