Juanice Elizabeth Buie, 87, of Midland passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016. The family will be accepting guests from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at First Christian Church with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.Juanice (Keahey) Buie was born in Vanzandt County, Texas on December 22, 1928. She was preceded in death by parents, Norton Keahey and Lora Keahey, and sister, Iris Russell. She went to school in Ft Worth and Van, Texas. Juanice moved to West Texas in the early 1950's to raise her three sons, Phil, Mike, and Bob Petty. She also has a husband, Ed Buie and two step daughters, Donna Rhea Cox and Mary Margaret Atwater. She loved her daughters in law, Sandy, Janice, and Karla Petty and sons in law, Eddie Cox and Jim Atwater. Juanice had five grandchildren and three step grand children: Wendy Breeland, Todd Petty, Jennifer Petty, Justin Petty, Chandler Petty, Lee Atwater, Chad Atwater and Brent Cox. She and her husband Ed (Rudy) Buie also had several great grandchildren.Juanice loved East Texas, but West Texas had her heart. After a few years of living in Tyler and Ruidoso, NM, she moved back to West Texas and made her home in Midland. She was a member of Memorial Christian Church and worked for several years as a volunteer at the food pantry.Juanice worked at several vocations during her lifetime, including banking, real estate and cosmetology. But, the beauty shop was her calling. She had the right mix of talent and personality to make it more fun than work. She had several hobbies, including painting and reading. She enjoyed looking for bargains at estate sales, and the eating out afterward (she and friend Pat Balko dubbed themselves as The Coupon Queens). But, you can't mention Juanice without mentioning her love for dogs. Wherever she was and whatever she was doing, there were dogs around. She and husband Ed enjoyed RVing, and had many adventures and made many long lasting relationships while touring the country. Her interests were varied, but her ability to talk to people and make friends wherever she went was her strongest attribute. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Jan Lacy.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to Hospice of Midland at 911 West Texas 79701 ,
