Joyce Chapman, 86, of Midland TX, passed away October 4th, 2022. Joyce was born on March 18th, 1936 in George West TX, to Franklin and Opal Kolacek.
She married Bill Chapman on November 3rd, 1956.
Joyce was known as the “Hug Lady”. She always wanted to give people hugs because she wanted them to know that they were special. Joyce had a talent for a variety of crafts, including: sewing, making porcelain dolls and painting. She loved babies and all animals, especially hummingbirds and meerkats. Joyce enjoyed going shopping with her girlfriends, wearing an assortment of cute and colorful caps, as well as, attending Midland Rockhounds baseball games and Jackalopes hockey games. She was a Christian woman, and her relationship with her Lord Jesus was very important to her.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Bill Chapman of Midland TX. Her daughters, Brenda Vaughn of Pearland TX and Tina Cooper of Cloudcroft NM. Grandchildren, Jason Williams of Little Elm TX and Taylor Hinson of Midland TX. Great grandchildren, Adrianna Williams and Constance Williams of Little Elm TX.
She is loved and will be greatly missed.
