Joseph Guy Mabee

Joe Mabee died unexpectedly at the hospital after suffering a heart attack on Saturday October 3, 2015 in Midland at the age of 84.Joe is survived by his wife Van; four children, Guy Mabee Jr. and wife Helen, Gail Commagere, Leanne Wilson and husband Danny and John Mabee and wife Gayla; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Mabee, Sr. and his mother, Ruby.Mr. Mabee was instrumental in relocating the Confederate Air Force to Midland, an avid aviation Collector, a member of the Petroleum Museum Hall of Fame. He was also the chairman of the Mabee Foundation which has bestowed financial help to many organizations in Midland and other organizations within the state and around the country.A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Midland Humane Coalition Capital Campaign, PO Box 53213, Midland, TX 79710, Texas Public Policy Foundation in Austin, TX, or to a charity of your choice.
