JoNell Griffin, age 90, of Big Spring, died Friday, January 26, 2018 at Lewisville Estates, a caring assisted living community in Lewisville, TX where she had resided the past several years.Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Sandy Sandlin, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.JoNell was born April 30, 1927, in Lorraine, TX and married Jack Griffin Sr. May 5, 1944 in Ackerly, TX.A long-time resident of Big Spring, JoNell worked at the Jet Drive-in Theater, Kirby Cleaners, and most notably owned and operated the grill at the Bowl-a-Rama with her sister, Fran Green. She was an avid bowler competing in several leagues and tournaments throughout the years.Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. She was an active member of several churches over the years, including Park Methodist where she often sang solos in the church choir, Wesley Methodist and First Christian Church. JoNell also loved reading, working puzzles and playing games. Her grandchildren could always count on there being a puzzle or game out to entertain them when they came to visit her. Even in her later years, JoNell could be found working crossword puzzles and word finds.Surviving family includes: her four children, Jack Griffin Jr (Sandra), Robert Griffin (Sherry), James Griffin (Cathy), Teresa Fenton (Steve); sister, Fran Green; eight grandchildren; Paige Jackson (Joey), Angela Griffin; Amy Pratt (Brian), Ginger Stockton; Casey Griffin (Katherine), Cara Griffin; Christopher Fenton (Allison), Aaron Fenton; two sisters-in-law, Sarah West and Cleola Grigg; sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Griffin Sr. and parents, Alice and J.A.
