Johncal Woody, 69, of Midland, died on Saturday, March 4, 2006, in a Midland hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Rev. James Otterness, officiating and Rev. Daniel Armstrong, assisting. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Stanton Masonic Lodge #951. The family will receive relatives and friends, from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the funeral home. He was born on August 27, 1936, in Stanton, Texas and married Ruby Faye Ross on December 28, 1989 in Midland, Texas. Johncal was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He grew up in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School and attended San Angelo Jr. College and Odessa College. He moved to Odessa in 1961 working for General Tire & Rubber Company in Odessa retiring in 1986. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stanton. Johncal was past master of the Stanton Lodge #951 A.F. & A.M., the Midland lodge #623, A.F. & A.M., was a member of the El Paso Scottish Rites, The Midland York Rites and Suez Shrine Temple. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Woody of Midland; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Peg Woody of Midland; one daughter & son-in-law, Rhonda and Ty Holloway of Rockwall; two stepdaughters, Debra Hudson of Lewisville and Sheri Hill and husband Chris of Corinth and one step son, Darren Ross and wife Shantell of Bedford; one brother, Pete Woody and his wife, Marie of Stanton; one grandson, Jonathan Holloway of Rockwall; step grandchildren, Sean Hudson of New Zealand, Katherine Hudson of Dallas, Alexander Hill, Kristen Hill and Nathan Hill all of Corinth, and Kade Ross of Bedford; numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and many lifetime West Texas friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Inez Woody and one brother, Wayne Houston Woody.
