John Wayne Anderson, 83, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in an Odessa hospital. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the 14th & Main Church of Christ.
John was born January 1, 1938 in Coleman, Texas to Johnnie and Lela Anderson. John was a quiet laid-back man who enjoyed life. He liked sports and played football and basketball in high school. He also like old cars and had acquired three. He was most happy in a chair with his dog in his lap. He often said, “If a man has a dog, he is rich!” He was a member of 14th & Main Church of Christ, where he served as deacon for several years. He was employed with Mobil as an electrician for 29 years.
John is survived by his wife Linda of 60 years, son Mike, daughter Donna, grandson Toby, one sister, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and a special pet Sandy.

Linda, Mike and Donna--I remember riding with ya'll to Garden City to watch a basketball game when we were in Junior High. I had walked down to Berea Church and waited in the parking lot for ya'll to pick me up. It was dark when we got home, and your Dad insisted on driving me to our house and not letting me walk alone after dark. Lots of good memories of our families attending school events over the years. Lifting your family in prayer for peace and comfort during this season of grieving.
