John Staulcup, 94, of Big Spring, passed away, Saturday, September 17, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 10am Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Cotton and Dr. Ron Davis officiating.

John was born October 8, 1927 in Sharon, Tennessee to Emma Adams Staulcup and McGrady Lynn Staulcup. John married Jo Ann Huddleston on August 28th 1964. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was an entrepreneur and was a “Jack of all trades”. He collected automobiles. He was known as “Lincoln John” by all his many friends. He was an accomplished pianist. He retired from the VA Medical Center. John was a veteran of the United States Army.

John is survived by his wife Jo Ann of Big Spring; his nieces and nephews: Gene and Luann Staulcup, Karl Staulcup (Darlene), Jimmy and Martha Staulcup, Rita and Tommy Vaughn, Don and Heidi Overton, Ruth Davidson Norris, Ellen and Dan Lark; Mary Jo and Allen Sullivan and Gail Hammett (Tony).

He was preceded in death by his parents Grady Lynn (Mac) and Emma; brothers: Frank Staulcup, Earl Staulcup, Aaron Staulcup and his sister: Alice Ruth Overton.

The family would like to thank Big Spring Skilled Care Center and Interim Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for John.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Interim Hospice of Big Spring, 1900 S. Gregg St. Ste. C, Big Spring, TX 79720.

My dad worked with Mr. Staulcup at the VA. I remember going to his house when I was young, and seeing all the cars, and playing with the crane machine full of beans. My dad, Sam Ainsworth, passed away 2 days after Mr. John. He actually mentioned Mr. John a few weeks before he passed, while we we're talking about Lincolns. My condolences to the family.

God Bless the memory of Uncle John - the original "Lincoln Man". I fondly remember when Uncle John and Aunt JoAnn would visit us in Augusta and Atlanta many years ago when I was just a kid. Smart, engaging and kinda mysterious he always entertained us with his stories and piano playing. He loved his sister Alice - our mom - and we loved him. In lieu of flowers we have donated 150 meals for Ugandan children thru Holt International Ministries. RIP Uncle John.

My prayers and condolences to you dear Jo Ann. I remember John when he worked at the VA hospital and through his Jack of all trades knowledge repaired the air conditioning and provided comfort to the patients and staff. He was a special man indeed.
