Pate, John Paul, 79, of Lake Colorado City, died on Sunday, November 5, 2000, in a Big Spring hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa withRev. Don Snipes chaplain with the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born on August 15, 1921 in Dawson County, Texas and married Anna Dittmore in 1951 in Andrews, Texas. She preceded him in death in July 1969. Mr. Pate lived in Midkiff and Odessa for 30 years. He worked in the oil field most of his life as a gang pusher for independent oil companies until retiring. He had lived at Lake Colorado City for the past 15 years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Survivors include two sisters, Letha Nixon of Big Spring and Leta McDougall of Lubbock; and a brother, Joe Pate of Henderson.
