Come and Go Celebration of Life

John “Marcus” Stanley, 81 of Midland, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2021.

There will be a “come and go” at Golf Course Road Church of Christ on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm to celebrate his life. The family honored Marcus’s request to be cremated, therefore, there will not be graveside services.

Marcus was born on April 21, 1940 in Seagraves, TX to Louise and Nolan Stanley. He was the middle of three children which included Faye and Lynn Dale.

Marcus attended and graduated from Coahoma High School where he met the love of his life, Dolores Lindley. They married on July 17, 1959 and were happily married for 62 years.

Marcus is survived by his wife Dolores and two daughters, Linda Weir and husband Terry and Kelly Kenney and husband Scott. He is also survived by his brother Lynn Dale Stanley and his wife Joyce. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josh Weir, Channing Weir, Ashton Weir, Addison Kenney and wife MacKenzie, Alli Kenney and fiancé Farrell Dilliberto and Quinn Kenney. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Marcus was preceded in death by his parents Nolan and Louise and his sister Faye.

The family greatly appreciates all the outpouring of love from Marcus’s many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

We are continually remembering those good 😊 times with Marcus, Dolores, Linda and Kelly. Especially the camping trips to Inks Lake and Marcus teaching these helpless non athletic friends to ski 🎿 and yes it took 2 skis 🎿 and help from our friends on shore just to get up standing. We love ❤️ you, Dolores, Linda, Kelly and your beautiful precious families. Always remembering you all in our prayer and thoughts. John 3:16 Jesus loves us all…………….

Marcus was one the first people I met when I went to work for AT&T. Marcus later became one of my Supervisors. He was great to work with. An awesome technician, a great boss and a pleasure to be around him. Seemed like he always had his grandkids with him. He will be truly missed.
