John Keller, Jr.

John Keller, Jr., 84, of Big Spring, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Trinity Memorial Park. He will lie in state Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11:00am until 8:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and the family will receive friends during the hours of 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday.

John was born May 22, 1938 to parents Goldie Caroline (Metz) Keller and John Keller, Sr. in Pierce, West Virginia. He spent 20 years in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge, he worked for over 20 years at the Big Spring State Hospital. He was very involved in the Masonic Lodge and served as District Deputy Grand Master in 2001. He was also involved with Suez Shrine Board from 2002-2006, was active in Coahoma Methodist Church and held many offices.

John is survived by his wife Sue of the home; one brother: Bill Metz, College Park, Maryland; his children: John Robert Keller and wife Suzy of New Braunfels, Jeff and Stacey Keller of Newnan and Sherry and Lee Harrison of New Braunfels; step-children: Ingrid Gamble and Justin Gamble both of Big Spring; and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Sue and husband Dick Uchic.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Shrine Hospital or to the First Methodist Church of Coahoma.
