So sorry for your loss. I will always remember his dedication to the cowboy way. He was tough as nails and never wavering in his convictions. Quite as he was he spoke volumes!

I grew up at Sprayberry and knew Mr. Brenneman before I started 1st Grade at Greenwood I.S.D. Over the years he was my Bus Driver, Shop Teacher, Tennis Coach and Friend. Once when I won a district tennis meet and was swelling with 1A confidence, He took me to the tennis court, took his 1950 wooden tennis racket out and challenged me to quick match. I asked him if he would like to change out of his Pointy Toe'd Cowboy Boots into Tennis shoes before we began.? He looked at me and smiled that crooked grin and said "Wofford I don't need Tennis Shoes to beat you!". It took only a couple minutes before I acquiesced to his superiority. Lol. I will miss many things about John but most of all I will miss his hearty "Well Hello There Worthless!!" greeting every time I ran into him. He will be counted and greatly missed as a funny, memorable and honorable man. My deepest condolences to his family. Take solace that his students will carry his memory with them always and that in this life, He made an indelible impression and...a difference.
