Johelen “Jodie” Barganski McCandless 69 of Midland, TX passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024. She was born to Joseph and Sue Barganski on October 25, 1954. She attended high school in Deer Park, TX and graduated in 1973. She went to work for Southwestern Bell/AT&T in 1981 and retired in 2011 after 30 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of the surrounding Houston area for over 65 years.

Johelen was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Kim McCandless, father Joseph Barganski, mother Sue Allen, and brother Randy Barganski.

She is survived by her daughter Heidi Delk and husband Chanley Delk. Grandsons Toby and Mason Delk, sister Raenell Bland, nieces Cassie Bland and Desiree Bland, and nephew Chase Bland. Visitation will be June 21, 2024 from 2 – 4 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematoy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center.

This picture was at a Joy Class Christmas Party. We met and ate at Chick-fil-A. We were so happy Heidi joined us too. Johelen bought some gift cards that night and gave them to some young people as a Christmas gift. These were people she had never met. They were so excited. Very fun memory. Her kindness was shown then and on many other occasions. A great example for us all.
