Joe Dale Mills, 63, of Midland, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland.Joe was born on January 2, 1955 to Willie (Billie) and Manuel Mills in Midland. Joe graduated from Midland High School in 1973 where he was proud to be actively involved in the Civil Air Patrol. He met and married the love of his life Dianne Eaton Mills February 1, 1975. Joe worked for D-Jax Corporation for over 35 years which his father started in 1972. Joe was an old cowboy at heart and lived his life filled with love and laughter and a rodeo cool Coors Light. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor that would come alive when he would pull pranks and jokes. He was also a selfless person and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, but would expect that shirt back washed and pressed. His wife and kids were always his number one priority. Joe took pride in always teaching his girls how to be confident and self-reliant, but also how to show kindness, love and stubbornness. He loved Dianne with his whole heart and did everything he could to make sure she was happy and felt his love and his stubbornness.At Joe's Memorial Service on Friday there will be a time when people will be asked to stand up and share any stories and memories about him. Please think about any stories to stand and tell, the family would greatly appreciate it, as would Joe. He loved to tell great stories.Joe is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Dianne Mills of Midland; daughters, Stephanie Strickland and husband Todd Strickland of Midland, kids Taylor Strickland, Kayla Strickland, Layne Banks, Kobi Strickland; Jaime White and husband Andy White of Granbury, kids Makena White, Madison White, Macie White; Roni Manley and husband Michael Manley of Midland, kids Kylar Mills, Colton Manley; great grandkids Rylan Strickland, Hopelynn Bidlack, Tyler Moses, Aalyiah Strickland; his brother Marshal Mills, and sister Kathy Whitaker, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved and treated like his own.He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Billie Mills.Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Strickland, Andy White, Michael Manley, Colton Manley, Bobby Whisman, Brian Rogers, Marshal Mills, Eddie Hyatt and Ray EatonIn lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be donated to Hospice Midland or The American Cancer Society.The family would like to send a special thanks to Amanda Richardson with Hospice of Midland, for her kindness and help through Joe's journey.
