Joe Cadenhead, Jr. 85, of Big Spring, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, November 25, 2022. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.
Joe was born December 24, 1936 to Joe and Ruth Abreo Cadenhead in Van Horn, Texas. He met his bride Mary Morales at church in 1959 and married her on August 6, 1960. He worked for Webb Air Force Base as a civil service employee on the flight line as an aviation mechanic until the air base closed in 1977. He then went to work for the VA hospital as a supply technician where he later retired. Joe also worked part-time at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home for several years. He later decided to obtain his basic peace officer education and graduated from the Odessa Law Enforcement Academy in 1997. His all time favorite hobby was baseball. He started his baseball career with the Big Spring Tigers in 1955 and played for over 30 years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Cadenhead, two daughters, Ann Chang and husband Tommy, Julie Ward and husband Ryan, four sons, Robbie Cadenhead and wife Lydia, Ricky Cadenhead and wife Maureen, Ronnie Cadenhead and wife Donna, and Randy Cadenhead and wife Carmelita; four sisters, Josie Cadenhead Meister, Margie Ramirez, Belma Madrid and Selia Puga, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his beloved sons and grandsons.
