Joe C. Thompson, 78, of Midland passed away on April 19, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Chaplain Mark Dettman officiating. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00am at Gouldbusk Cemetery in Coleman County, Texas.Joe is survived by his wife, Clara Thompson; daughters, Janna Thompson and Sue Ellen Stalder (Dean); son, Robert Thompson (Star); grandchildren, Connor Thompson, Holt Thompson, Mackey McCommon, and Tyler McCommon; step grandchildren, Andrew, Hope, and Brant Stalder; and cousin, Teddy Ballard (Hershel).He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline Thompson; great aunt, Ruth Locke; and son-in-law, Robert M. McCommon, Jr.Pallbearers will be Robert Thompson, Connor Thompson, Mackey McCommon, Holt Thompson, Tyler McCommon, and John Collier. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Beazley, J.C. Leonard, Jerry Holt, Eddie Rankin, Rick Eaton, and Pete Jennings.,
