Beverly Joe Bruner of Midland went to his heavenly home on September 24, 2021. Joe was a beloved husband, father and grandad. He was born on January 4, 1927 to Patti and W.L. Bruner in Rural Shade, Texas. Joe graduated from Kerens High School in 1945, after high school he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Europe as a Quartermaster during the occupation of Germany.
After the war, he made his way to West Texas to work in the oil and gas industry. He and his wife Shirley settled in Midland where they lived for many years and raised 3 boys. After retiring from Exxon, he spent his time gardening, cattle ranching and enjoying time with his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Joe thrived in the outdoors, enjoyed physical labor, and had a soft spot for his cattle and he loved his family.
Joe is survived by his wife Shirley Bruner of Midland; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Lynda Bruner of Lubbock, son Bobby Bruner and his wife Sharon Felts of San Angelo, son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Kim Bruner of Kingsland, Grandchildren: Erica Nickols, Ashley Warren, Jake Bruner, Kellsey Bruner and Austin Bruner and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son David Bruner, and brothers Sam Bruner and Kenneth Bruner.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery.
