Jo (Allen) Carlile, 75, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, September 22, 2001, in an Arlington hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Jo was born on May 11, 1926 in San Angelo, Texas to Nathan and Ruth Allen, a pioneer family of Glasscock and Howard Counties. She married Elwood Carlile on July 10, 1945 in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1989. She worked for the Big Spring Independent School District for twenty-five years as secretary and attendance clerk at Runnels Jr. High, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include, one son and wife, Buster and Pam Carlile of Big Spring; one daughter and husband, Elaine and Cal Daves of Midlothian; one brother and wife, Nathan and Jacque Allen of Graham, her grandchildren, Will Daves of Boerne, Nathan Daves and wife, Brooke of Boston, Massachusetts, Kristy Hooper and husband, David of San Angelo, Kevin Carlile and wife, Katina of Lubbock; a great-grandchild, Haylie Hooper of San Angelo, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Sanders and Edith Fuqua. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
