Jo Kirkwood, 77, of Big Spring formerly of Tarzan, Texas, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.Jo was born August 3, 1939 in Chillicothe, Texas, and married Randall Kirkwood in 1967 in Amarillo, Texas. They soon moved to Tarzan, Texas where they lived for 46 years. She was an Aide and bus driver for the Grady Independent School District for 16 years. The kids loved her and she loved them. She also loved being with her family at the roping arena.Jo is survived by her husband Randall Kirkwood of Big Spring; son, Wade Kirkwood and wife, Megan of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Brazos and Sage; and one brother, Darrell Pitcock of Bedford.She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Kirkwood; a granddaughter, Jobeth Kirkwood; her parents, Earl and Inez (Pickard) Pitcock; and a brother, Robert Pitcock.The family suggests memorials go to Jo's most cherished charity, the West Texas Boy's Ranch, 10223 Boy's Ranch Road, San Angelo, TX 76904.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
