Jerry G. Swaim, age 83 of Midland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at First Southern Baptist Church of Gardendale. The address is 6849 East Goldenrod, Gardendale, Texas.
Jerry was born on June 21, 1938, in Greenwood, Arkansas, to G. A. and Maggie Swaim. He graduated from Jal High School in 1957 as the valedictorian of his class. He married Patsy Burgess on May 9, 1959. They just celebrated their 63rd anniversary. He retired after 40 years of service from El Paso Natural Gas. He loved his family, games, singing, and working in his yard. He was well known as the giver of wet willies and nicknames. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Jerry is survived by his wife Patsy, three daughters, Terri Baldwin and husband John, Sherri Walker, Tracey Armstrong, and husband Bradley, six grandchildren, Brian Armstrong, Matt Armstrong, Kayla Willman and husband Aaron, Cord Walker, Cameron Walker and wife Tamara, and Colby Walker and wife Jana. He was also a wonderful Papa to 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jimmy, sister, Sharon, and grandson, Josh.
