Jerrie Ann Westmoreland, 72, was a resident of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. Services will be at 2:00 Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Branch at npw in Midland.
Jerrie Ann was born on April 18, 1949, in Stanton, TX to James and Joanna Webb. She was a bright, caring and studious child. She attended and graduated from Robert E. Lee High school and was active in the band and twirling programs. She went on to obtain a B.S. in Psychology from UTPB as a single mother. Her love for people and her profoundly generous nature led her to spend many years working in the area of social work. She was the Executive Director of the Midland County Housing Authority during the 1990’s and was federally recognized as having one of the most successful housing programs in the nation. Her work on Project Self Sufficiency and her Moderate Rehab program influenced and bettered the lives of hundreds of families within the Midland community by helping men and especially single women with children get housing, education and become financially independent. She had true love for people, and after she retired in 1996, she continued this generous nature in helping many more people throughout her life transition into better circumstances. She was never hesitant to open her home to the displaced or feed anyone who was hungry. She was a strong Christian woman who truly believed in loving her neighbor with all that she had. Her favorite activities included shopping and dining out with family and friends. With all of her work and accomplishments over the years, she had always said that what she treasured the most was the time spent with her family, especially her children and her grandchildren. She was a truly genuine, loving, authentic, and generous woman and will greatly be missed by all of the souls that she had touched.
Jerrie Ann is survived by her mother, Joanna Webb, her sister, Glenna Mims, her brother, Jimmy Webb, her three children, James Stormes, Joanna Lien and Aaron Westmoreland, and her grandchildren, James and Zoey Stormes, Grant Westmoreland, Gabriel and Emily Lien, Ariel, Aubrey, and Kane Westmoreland.
