Jean Hildreth, 90 of Lenorah, Tx. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, February 24th 2025. The visitation will begin at 5:00pm on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Tx. Services will be 11:00am Friday, February 28th 2025 at Evergreen Chapel, Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton Texas.
Jean was born on September 14th 1934 in San Saba, Tx to Robert and Eunice Anderson. She was a twin and the first of 10 children. She grew up in Texas, Nevada, California and back to Texas. She was educated at Flower Grove High School. She met and married Walter P. Hildreth Jr in 1952. The marriage produced three children Robert, Debbie, and Kim. Followed by several grand and great grandchildren. Jean loved to fish, camp, hike, hunt for pottery and arrowheads, kayak, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a sharpshooter and never missed hitting dead center. She took out many a rattlesnake with her aim, and she never missed a chance to win big at the casino. She was an amazing artist with many oil and pastel paintings under her belt. She loved to go fishing in her pond where she would catch a 10lb catfish, kiss it on the nose and toss it back into the pond. She played competitive volleyball in her community when her children were young and won many a blue ribbon at the County Fair with her French Vanilla Ice Cream.
Jean is survived by her children Robert Hildreth, Debbie McMurry and husband Teddy, Kim Decker-Welch and husband Cord Grandchildren Jennifer Greer and husband Greg, Jeremy Church and wife Kourtney, Eric Decker and Briauna, Caitlyn Dougherty and husband Travis, Thomas Keagy and wife Elizabeth great grandchildren TJ Keagy, Briley Greer, Bradley Beck, Abby Keagy, Alex Church, Jolie Greer, Talon Dougherty, Aubry Dougherty and Erianna Decker, three brothers Charlie, Melvin, Kenny Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
Jean is preceded in death by her infant twin sister Norma Dean, her parents Robert and Eunice Anderson, her brothers Bobby and Birt, her Husband Walter, her sisters Yvonne Sites and Juanita Stokes and her daughter in law Trisha Hildreth.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the communities of Lenorah, Tarzan, and Stanton, Texas. The doctors and staff of Martin County Hospital, Midland Memorial, Shannon Hospital, and Odessa Medical Center and her very dear friends Zo, Sylvia, and Tina.
