Janice was an impressive lady in so many ways - and a good and true friend. Elaine and I are so glad we had the opportunity to have a memorable vacation with her and Lane in 2005. I know she was a superb participant and contributor to her church, profession, and community.. Lane, best wishes to you for the the future and hope to see you soon.
She was a wonderful mother, teacher, and friend.
I was in the Rosson home only a few times during my high school years, but remember Janice as very open, easy-going and truely genuine. Barry & Brian, I share your sadness, having lost my own Mom just last October. "Each one of us must release the hand of one we love into the hand of One we have not seen." She was immediately with the Lord and in the company of Angels.
Uncle Lane, We are all very sorry for your loss. Knowing that her faith was in Christ Jesus makes it possible for us to celebrate her life while we mourn her loss. Janice was a great lady who had accomplished much and touched many lives. I know you will miss her and that your heartache will be great. Always remember that she is now whole and rejoicing in the presence of our Saviour.
Janice was a blessing to First Christian Church and to me personally when I was employed there. She was an excellent example of the Proverbial Godly Woman. I am thankful to her and Lane for their just, fair, and merciful wisdom.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Sending my sympathy and prayers... and letting you know my heart goes out to you at this time. I wish you God's comfort.
Dear Blake, Brian and Barry. We are not going to be able to attend the services or see you tonight, and Russell is out of state but is also thinking of you. Because of Blake "THE KID" as my father called him, we came to know Janice for the wonderful person and mother that she was. My Mom (age 89), remembered today that she once gave Blake a permanent, after talking to Janice about it, and I still have an indention from the bottle rock fight at the lake. Your Mom was wonderful, had a great sense of humor, and you boys were blessed to have her, and I know you have wonderul memories of happy times with her, as we do with you. .
I went to high school with Janice and knew she would always be special. I always kept in touch with her through my brother Donald Wren. She reared such a fantastic family and did so much for education, Big Spring, and BSHS. The loss of Harold was very hard and then she found Lane to share the rest of her life. The Big Spring exes website is one of the best in the country. Much of that is because of Janice. I know she is in Heaven today with her Lord. My sympathy and prayers are with the family today. May God give you comfort in this time. Belva Hess
The passing of Ms Rosson is a great loss for everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a tower of strength to me throughout my high school years....I was fortunate to have known her and will always be grateful for her attention and advice. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. God Bless You All!
What can you say about a lady that took the time to help keep the alumni of BSHS up to speed on homecoming events, adresses, and messages. As someone who moved away from Big Spring 20 years it is very refreshing to know that home is just a click away. Let us rejoice in the fact that our friend is in a wonderful place...
Although I was not very close to her, she will always be a special part of my life. She was someone that I would have loved to know more. Janice was a new addition to the family in which I grew to love very much. Her kindness and her just being herself did her well and she shed her light on others. Brandon will miss her greatly. She had a very big influence on him. I credit her on him turning out to be the man he is today. I always thought of her as the very smart and witty aunt. She was always a bright ray of sunshine. She will be greatly missed.
Janice's family and friends have suffered a great loss with her passing. She did so much for BSISD and the city of Big Spring. Sincerely, Jane & D.W.
I grew up in the First Christian Church and used to go to babysit the Rosson boys' with my grandmother, Mrs. Shelby Hall. Mrs. Rosson gave me a position at College Heights where she served as principal in the 1990's and I worked for her for five years. What a special person!
As good friends of Barry and Linda Rosson, I can remember how often they spoke so highly of Janice. They were so proud of her dedication to her family, church, many causes she was involved in. She was obviously a terrific mother, raising such a fine son, and had two dear grandchildren in Matthew and Zacary. Her courageous battle with her recent illness inspired so many as she faced it head on with dignity. My sincere sympathies to the all the Rosson families. May God bless you and keep you in his care.
Good bye to a Great Mentor. You were a bright light and will be missed by all. You were a very special Lady. Thank you for being there for me.
Janice, my dear, you will be missed by so many. All of your volunteer work was done with so much love. I remember when our friend, Lill passed away in October of 06, and how your words to others were so profound. I know your family is so proud of you. And all the rest of us too. Like a friend above said, keep the light on for us. Your ways of love touched all of us deeply. Helen M. Class of '48
Janice has served on our (Heritage Museum) board of directors for many years. She always made sure everything ran smoothly. She never sat back and watched others do the job, she rolled up her sleeves and took charge! She has always been such a fixture in the community that it was easy to take for granted that Janice would always be at "that" meeting or "that" party with plenty of questions and answers. There will be an empty space that will never be filled, on our board and in our hearts. I loved Janice dearly and my prayers go to her boys, Lane, and family Tammy Burrow Schrecengost
Janice was my friend, my mentor and my role model. I came to know her when she was principal at College Heights. Later we served on many committees together. Janice became my 'village' for my four fatherless children, and she was my ally and my helper in more ways that I could possibly name. Her Texas-wide smile, that special twinkle in her eyes and her soft-spoken voice are cherished memories and I shall miss her always. She epitomized the word gracious and set a standard of living excellence I strive to achieve each day. My teaching career is in large part due to her influence. I find solace in knowing she is with the Lord now, loving children and directing His committees and events and activities with the same pinache we all came to love and appreciate. My prayers are with her family as they learn to live on and adjust to this loss. May God bless and keep you. Marsha
Lane, we were specially blessed the day you and Janice married. She said she always wanted a sister, and you told her you had too many, so you would share. She loved to laugh about that. She was a special lady and a good friend. She will really be missed. Linda
Janice is one of the most giving, loving people I have known. She was a light in a dark place and I know that her Savior welcomed her with open arms and said "...Weldon my good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things, Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:21
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Janice will be greatly missed. She did a wonderful job raising Brian and her other two sons, Blake and Barry. Janice was an inspiration to many during her educational career and was a tireless community volunteer. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Janice was an inspiration to all who knew her. Lane, you did a great job of comforting her and informing us of her good and bad days. God Bless Bev & Glenn Moss
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God's peace comfort your heart in this sorrowful time.
Janice was always an inspiration to me. She was so great to keep our graduating class in touch. I will miss her wonderful spirit and encouragement, but I'm grateful she is now without pain and in the presence of our Lord. Joce
Your life was a beautiful example for others to follow and you will live on through the hearts of those loved you.
Janice will be missed. She was a VERY big influence in my life and musical career. She was my principal at College Heights Elementry. I also had the honor to share the stage with her with Big Spring Symphony and Chorus. Thanks for being a wonderful woman and may the her spirit live on in all the many hearts she has touched. God Bless!
May God Bless your family at this time. She is at peace with God.
I had your mom at Goliad, then she was my counselor in high school, but she taught me the most when I became the President of TSTA and followed her in the office. She taught me alot about that. She will be remembered as a truly great lady.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family at this time of sorrow. We are thinking of you as you travel to Texas to say one final good bye to your beloved Mother.
Everywhere we look around our wonderful town, we see evidence of Janice's caring and commitment. We see lives she has enriched and organizations she has enhanced. We see people who love her and a community which is better for having had her among us - a community which will never forget her. A community where she will live forever, in our hearts.
She was a wonderful mother, teacher, and friend. I am thankful for the opportunity to have been a schoolmate and teacher of two of her sons. She was an asset to this community in so many ways and will be missed by all she has come in contact with. Sincerely, Wilbur Cunningham
What can I say about her? She was like a "mom" to me. I knew her through my teen years and on in to my adult years as well. "Mom" was special. Even now I think about what I am gonna do that one day a month when I called her? It will not be the same. My children only met her once but she touched them in her own special way that made her what she was. A truly wonderful friend, confidante and "Mom". She will be missed....
I was deeply saddened to here about Mrs. Rosson's passing, knowing all the while she has gone to a special place that has been awaiting her. She was a very special lady to me in school and will always hold a very special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family. She will be missed dearly by everyone she ever touched.
Janice has proved to be a dear and loyal friend for fifty three years. Her sweet and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She was the kind of friend that was dearer than some of my own relatives. I rejoice in knowing she is now free from earthly pain and at home with our Heavenly Father. Thank you, Janice, for being a faithful Theta "big sister." Gwen Clark Cavin
So glad I was able to visit with you at the 50th BSHS Class Reunion. I remember the good times at Presbyterian Youth Fellowship. Many fold memories.
Janice, I was so happy when you married Lane and became my sister. We have been sisters for ten years, and friends for 50 years. What a joy it has been. Heaven has a bright new star. Keep the light on for me!
The love and joy we shared in Emmaus brought fresh cheer to our spirits. The smile Janice had was a glimpse into eternal satisfaction that our Father would say, "Good and Faithful servant." The Kingdom of our Lord Jesus is blessed indeed because of the love of Janice Bond.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
