Janet Lee Harris, 70, of Midland, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 surrounded by family. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday March 20, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Midland. A private family interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Janet was born on October 3rd, 1954 in Houston and was adopted by her loving parents Dana Lee and James Barron Davis. As a child, she lived in Houston and Lafayette, eventually settling with her parents and little brother, Kirby, in Midland. She graduated from Lee High School in 1972 and worked in the oil business as a young adult in Midland and in the automobile lobbying industry during her time in Denver. As a wife and mother, she made a full round trip from Midland to Denver to Tulsa and eventually back to Midland where she raised her children. Most recently, she dedicated her time and resources to animal welfare, local and regional politics, and running her small family oil and gas business. She loved attending and speaking at city council and school board meetings. She was smart, assertive, and compassionate. She was a loving mother to her three boys and was endlessly devoted to her eight grandchildren. She was a great Mom and Mema.
Janet is survived by her three boys Keith Russell House and wife, Jennifer, of Austin, Quillan Grant Harris and wife, Beth, of Midland, and Drew Prescott Harris and wife, Michelle, also of Midland, her brother, Kirby Davis of Midland, and niece Amanda Henderson of Longmont, Colorado. She is survived by her eight grandchildren, Caroline Lorraine House, Sean Winfred House, Georgia Elizabeth Harris, Webber Davis Harris, Hight Quillan Harris, Addison Wynne Harris, Peyton Elizabeth Harris & Carter Grace Harris.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents Dana Lee and James Barron Davis.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Medical Center Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
