Jana Sue Lockhart Morphis of Big Spring, Texas walked through the gates of Heaven on Monday, October 4, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Springcreek Fellowship in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.
She was born on February 12, 1952, to Harvey “Gene” Lockhart and Elizabeth Williamson Miller. Jana Sue was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She attended Big Spring High School where she was a member of the Bible Club and FHA.
Jana Sue married Paul O’Brien and had three children, Hugh Don, Miranda and Enid. She later married Frank Morphis on June 18, 1999 and together, they had 7 children. Jana Sue went to work at Westex Telephone in June of 2000 and retired in February of 2017 after 17 years of faithful service.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Frank Morphis of Big Spring; children, Hugh Don and Michelle O’Brien of Blanchard, OK, Miranda and Teddy Neves of Van Alstyne, TX, Enid and Kenny Stonerook of Lindsey, OK, Frank and Sarah Morphis of Waxahchie, TX, Bubba and Kim Taylor of Maypearl, TX, Cember and Michael Boyd of Holliday, TX and Joseph Morphis of Waxahachie, TX; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Warren Lockhart of Big Spring, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jana Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Williamson Miller and Harvey “Gene” Lockhart; her sister, Patty Heckler; and her brother, Danny Lockhart.
