James Lon (Jim) Strain, 68, of Big Spring, Texas died December 30, 2021, at his home. There will be a private graveside service for him at a future date.
He was born November 7th, 1953 in Colorado City, Texas, just nine minutes before his twin brother, Tim. Jim and Tim shared a unique and unbreakable bond that only twins can understand.
Jim graduated from Big Spring High School as part of the Class of 1972. He worked at Western Container in Big Spring for many years, and then later worked for TDCJ in Colorado City, Texas before retiring.
His survivors include his dearly beloved son, Jacob Ian Strain; grandchildren: Jayden Gutierrez, Jacobe Rodriques and Kenzie Rodriques and one great-grandson, Ryan Rodriques.
Jim is also survived by four brothers: Robert (Bob) Strain of Asheville, North Carolina, John Strain and partner Paula Hubbard of Coppell, Texas, Tim Strain and wife, Robin, Steve Strain, and one sister: Esther Whitmore and husband, Scott, all of Big Spring, Texas and a special friend, Pam Sudderth Sheehan, of Midland, Texas. “Uncle Jim” was also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon A. Strain, Jr., and Maryella Rathmell Strain.
