James H. Norred, of Snyder, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the age of 94. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Elena, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and sisters.
Jim is a veteran of World War II. For his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal. He served honorably in the United States Army and Navy. Jim also worked as a foreign petroleum consultant and traveled around the world where he worked overseas for many years. He met his wife Elena while working in Peru for Occidental Petroleum Company (OXY). He was highly regarded and loved by his extended Peruvian family. Jim delighted in telling stories about his travels. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his generosity, his conversations about politics, and his overall wealth of knowledge. He was well loved and will be dearly missed.
Viewing services will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
