James Elton Sherrod, 26, of Stanton, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 26, 2023 at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.

James was born April 30, 1997 in Odessa, Texas to parents Charles and Debbie Gilbert. He graduated from Stanton High School in 2015. He loved cooking outside and building things. He enjoyed video games especially Call of Duty. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He was described as a sweet, genuine soul that could make anybody laugh.

He is survived by his mother Debbie Gilbert; grandmother: Becky Williams; two sisters: Jessica Gilbert and Kimberly Rodus; two brothers: Justin Lynch and Cade Gilbert and his aunt Julie Sherrod and his uncle James Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Gilbert, his grandfather Elton Williams and his dog Peanut.
