James Bruce Walker, 57, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at H & R Motorcycles, formerly Big Spring Harley-Davidson Shop located at 908 W. 3rd Street.
Bruce was born May 7, 1964 in Big Spring, Texas to Howard Lee Walker and Marijo Thixton. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching and playing football and fishing prior to his accident He was quarterback (#11) for Coahoma High School and was a graduate of Abilene Christian School. In the process of making the ACU football team he was in an accident on October 1, 1983 that left him a quadriplegic. After his accident, computers were his life and he became an online gamer from hell. He was able to draw with a mouth stick and he especially hated when the internet would go down. He enjoyed painting Nascar cars as well as on-line golfing. He married Dana Callahan October 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Walker, of Big Spring; two brothers: Robert Walker and wife Vickie of Big Spring, Cecil Walker and wife Laura of Amarillo; step-sons: Cody and Jeffery Attebury both of Lubbock and Braden Witt and Brandy Griffin of Big Spring; three step-grandchildren: Kayden, Karlea and Kamdon Griffin; Dana’s grandmother Grace Hunter; nieces and nephews: Jettley Walker of Big Spring, Whitney Jade Walker of Big Spring, Kim Pineda of Ft. Worth, Brycson Pineda of Big Spring, JJ Beltz and wife Courtney, both of Fate, Amanda Wall and husband Cody and Colby Walker and wife Bayli, all of Amarillo and three sweet dogs: Baby, Elle Mae and Piper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
