Jacob Lee Power was born on June 17, 1994. He had a hard start coming into this world but he made up for it by living every day to its fullest.Jacob went to be with his Lord on July 3, 2012 at the young age of 18. He had a special relationship with God and spent many hours alone with Him. One can only imagine the conversations that took place between them. Every Friday night during football season, Jacob would go to the corner of the end zone, go to his knee, lower his head and pray. He would then stand up look to God, put on his helmet, clap his hands twice and run to his teammates where they would prepare for battle. He had an end zone angel, TBS, in that corner of the field that he loved and trusted. Jacob's number was 37 and every time you saw that number, you saw his smile. He was given that uncommon jersey-number his junior year on varsity and wore it with pride. He saw that number pop up everywhere, from computer password, locker combinations, Whataburger food orders, and time on digital clocks. It was actually everywhere you looked. He left this earth on the 3rd day of the 7th month (37). If one wanted to describe Jacob, it would be a young man blessed with talents, a constant smile and a warm heart. He was ambitious, an encourager, and kind. Jacob had an endless list of friends from all walks of life and never met a stranger. If he did they quickly became a friend. Everywhere he went it seemed as though he was known and liked. He enjoyed his time in the PALS program in the Midland Schools and was lovingly referred to as "JP" by the kids he worked with. Jacob had always been taught to be a leader; he lead by example. Before graduating from Lee High School in May of 2012, Jacob was a two-year letterman at LHS, he received Honorable Mention as All District Linebacker and played on the ASCO All-Star Team. He received the Blake Nichols Scholarship. He had planned on attending Midland College in the fall and had successfully completed the requirements for the Legacy Foundation Scholarship.Jacob had a special relationship with his sister, Kaylee. Lee and Staci loved to listen and to see them sitting in their rooms talking, laughing, and sharing stories. They watched out for each other, both giving and taking advice from each other and sharing their experiences. From his sister Kaylee – Jacob was always so full of life. I can honestly say he lived by the saying "live life to the fullest," because that's exactly what he did. There was never a dull moment around him. He really was the best brother anyone could have. I'm blessed beyond compare. I'm at a loss for words right now but I do know he's watching over me now. He always has watched over me, leaving every single guy that came up to me scared. "That's what I'm for," he'd always say. He wanted to protect me from anything and everything. He did a good job. Jacob was one of a kind, that's for certain. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll miss him more than words can explain. But his memory will live on through the hearts of so many. Everyone knew who he was and he had an effect on anyone with something as small as a smile. But my brother's smile was special. It had the ability to make everyone in that room smile. A real genuine smile. We had so many good times and those memories will stick with me forever. As your little sister, I will make sure to make you a proud big brother. I love you Jacob Lee.
