Jack E. Mundell, 77, of Temple, formerly of Big Spring, died on Monday, July 12, 2004, at his residence. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Mt. Walter McCall, Chaplain of Odyssey Hospice, officiating.The family will receive friends Thursday, from 7:00-9:00 PM at 2811 Coronado.He was born on July 19, 1926, in Wirt, Oklahoma and married Bonnie Spears on November 15, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada.Jack had worked for Cosden Refinery, retiring in 1982. He had also farmed and ranched. After retiring he moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico and then moved to Temple in 1992.He served in the United States Army during World War II.Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Mundell of Temple; two sons, Mike Mundell and wife, Janette of Temple, and Steve Mundell and wife, Wanda of Big Spring; two daughters, Tresa Spencer and husband, Dean of Big Spring and Toni Arnold and husband, Bill of Thomasville, NC; one step-daughter, Tricia Thompson of Santa Fe, Texas; three step-sons, Bill Thompson and wife, Julie of Algoa; Douglas Thompson and wife, Stephanie of Alvin, and Gary Thompson of Algoa; one brother, Don Mundell and wife, Ochean of Apple Valley, California; four sisters, Inez Vegso of North Lima, Ohio, Reba Tetter and husband, Jay of Ft. Worth, Lucille Nichols and husband Donald of Knott, and Bernice Hardison and husband, Bill of Lewisville; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Lori and Eddie Gonzales of Coahoma, Jason Mundell of Big Spring, Shelly and Gabe Stone of Fayetteville, NC, Shane and Catherine Clanton of Horseshoe Bay, Chris and Brandy Spencer of Midland, Joshua Spencer of Big Spring, Justin Mundell of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Clayton Mundell of Arlington, Brittney Mundelll of Arlington, Beau Condrey of Thomasville, NC, Jody Condrey of Thomasville, NC, Amanda Arnold of Thomasville, NC, Ricky and D. D. Hart of Algoa, Nicki Hart of Santa Fe, Texas, Koby Thompson of Santa Fe, Texas, William Thompson of Algoa, Robert Thompson of Algoa, Khiira Thompson of Galveston, Lauren Thompson of Santa Fe, Texas, Jacob Thompson of Alvin, Justin Thompson of Alvin, Brittany Hayes-Thompson of Santa Fe, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and thirteen nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Mundell; and one brother, Buster Mundell.
