Jack Boyce passed from life on this earth February 28 in Oklahoma City, OK where he had been living with his oldest son, Don for the past 13 years. Jack was born on August 4, 1920, in Lelia Lake, TX to KK and Vashti (Morrison) Boyce. He moved to Midland in 1936. He married Pearl Henley on February 24, 1940. He served in the Army Air Corp from 1944-1946. Jack and Pearl had three sons, Don, Dan, and David.He was best known as the owner of The Ornamental Shop that was in business in Midland for some 40 years. He was known as a very generous man and helped many individuals through the years by giving them jobs. He was well known for his sense of humor and love of sports. He enjoyed following the Midland Lee Rebels high school sports and was seen for many seasons at the home games. He was also the song leader for many years at the Assembly in Christ Fellowship church where his sister-in-law, Betty McNerlin was the founder and pastor for many decades. Jack and Pearl were founding members and long time supporters of the church.Jack was known for wearing his cowboy hat and enjoyed his cowboy boots. Jack and Pearl’s names seemed to always be spoken together. For many years Jack and Pearl enjoyed hosting all sorts of gatherings at their long time address of 4632 Princeton. It could be said that Jack had kind hands as through the years he went out of his way to extend help and loans to many who came to him in desperate need. If someone came to him in trouble he did all he could to help them. Never was a discouraging word heard from him.During his later years while living in Oklahoma City, Jack enjoyed his days at the Daily Living Center. He brought great cheer to all of the other elderly attendees and employees. He was known for breaking out in song and funning sayings. He carried his joy and cheerful heart into all he did. He was known at the Center as the best dancer and loved to lead all the activities and songs when groups came to entertain. He was loved by all of the people he was around. The attendants and nurses were blessed by his presence. You had to be prepared for him to break out in song at any time or any place. He could sing every verse to many old hymns and favorite songs of his youth.Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years Pearl and his son Dan Boyce. He is survived by his son, Don Boyce and his wife Peggy of Oklahoma City, OK; son, David Boyce and wife Laura of Edmond, OK; 11 grandchildren; Jason and Blake Boyce of Oklahoma City, OK; Julie Boyce of Austin, TX; Chandler and Abby Boyce of Edmond, OK; Brent Boyce of Ft. Worth, TX; Natalie Nolen, Michelle, Daniel, Dillon, and Drew Boyce of Midland, TX. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 5:00-7:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10:00AM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.Pallbearers are Jason, Brent, Blake, Chandler, Daniel, Dillon, and Drew Boyce.We are sad he has departed this earth, but very joyful he is in now in his heavenly home. He will be missed by all.,
