Ila Faye Reid Ewing, 91 of Midland, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 3:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Bobby Bell officiating. Floral arrangements may be directed to Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Alexis Smith Foster, Savannah Sparkman, Justin Carlton, Matthew Carlton, Jae Ewing, and Josh Marler.Ila was born on August 21, 1925 to Carl Henry and Willie Lou Reid in Titus County, Texas. Ila Faye was raised and educated in Hedley, Texas. On January 6, 1945, she and Alex S. Ewing, Jr. were married in Hollis, Oklahoma. Their lives were filled with love and deep understanding for 66 years. Their first years of marriage were spent in Ft. Worth, Texas before moving to Houston and then to other various location in Texas and California before settling in Midland for the second time in 1972. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was baptized in her faith in 1953.Being a wife, mother, and homemaker was the primary focus of her life for the four children born in the marriage. Ila Faye is survived by her daughter, Ann Foster of Pecos, Texas; daughter, Alexis Smith and husband Mike Marler of Kerrville, Texas; son, Steele Ewing and wife Kim of Pecos, Texas; and daughter, Nancy and husband Randy Carlton of Midland, Texas; granddaughters, Alexis Smith Foster and Savannah Sparkman and husband Patrick, all of Pecos; grandsons, Justin Carlton and wife Gina of Midland and Matthew Carlton and fiancé Becky Gardner of Odessa; grandson, Josh Marler and wife Jana of Sterling City; grandson, Jae Ewing and wife Alisha of Grape Creek, Texas; 9 great-grandchildren; and her extended family.She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister, and her grandson, Randall Alexander Carlton.,
