Howard Wayne Hunt, 76 of Granbury, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Odessa.
Howard was born on April 8, 1945 to Vada and Leslie Hunt in McCamey, Texas.
He attended Kermit High School. He later joined the US Army where he proudly served.
He sent his life in the oilfields of West Texas and New Mexico. There wasn’t much in the oilfield he hadn’t done but selling pipe inspection services was a majority of it. In 1999 he started Double H Services renting mud gas separators and flare lines until his retirement in 2013.
Howard never met a stranger. He would make friends wherever he went. His favorite times were on the water in his boat. When he retired he moved to San Angelo and later to Granbury where he could walk out his back door and climb on his boat and head out. He also enjoyed riding the jet skis with his grandkids.
He was a jokester and was always up for a good time but would also give you the shirt off his back.
He was a master mason.
Survivors include his sons, Kelly and Kristen Hunt, Michael and Laura Hunt; grandchildren, Megan and Clay Holis, Madison Hunt, Mackelle and Blake Cannon, Corey Hunt, Casey Hunt, Myles Hunt, Jaylen Hunt and Jace Hunt; great grandchildren, John, Dani, Lee and Jayne; sister, Shirley Irvin; mother of his sons, Claudie Kasperek and husband Rick.
