Herman “Butch” Cain, Sr., 78, of Stanton, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00am at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with Rev. David Harp officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton on Wednesday, August 11th.
Butch was born September 18, 1942 in Bisbee, Arizona. He was a life-long resident of Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1961. Butch was a proud veteran and served in the United States Navy. He worked for Cap Rock Electric for many years then owned and operated Cain’s Body Shop until he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanton.
Butch is survived by his wife, Nona, and their 2 sons, Wayne Cain and Brian Cain and wife Brandi all of Midland; 2 grandsons Blake Cain and Brady Cain of Midland; one great-grandson Lincoln Cain of Midland; one brother Harold Cain and wife Natrell of Brownwood; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Glennie Cain; one sister Judy Mashburn and one nephew David Mashburn.
Pallbearers are Blake Cain, Brady Cain, Barry Cain, Christopher Cain, with honorary pallbearers Bobby Kelly and Terry Shanks
