Harold W. "Curly" Graves, 80, of Stanton, died on Friday, February 19, 2010, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the funeral home. He was born on April 13, 1929, in Martin County, Texas and married Lola Jean Goolsby on November 29, 1947 in Martin County. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2008.Curly was a lifelong resident of Martin County and had farmed in the Grady Community for many years. He moved to Stanton in 1977 and continued farming until retiring in 1999. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid supporter of all their activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sissy Graves of Stanton; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Wayne Barber of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Donnie Barber of Midland and his children, Chelsea and Ashlin; Karen Luxton and husband, Tony of Stanton and their children, Jacee and Tanner; Jolynn Rivas and husband, Shawn of Stanton, and their children, Madison, Tristan and Dustin; Jill Moss of Avon, Indiana and her children, Hannah and Jeremy II; and Stacey McCain and husband, Cody of Midland and their son, Corbin; and one brother and sister-in-law, I. T. and Gwen Graves of Dumas.He was also preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; one sister; and a great-grandson, Bradon Graves.
