*Media Obituary*Harold Ray Broughton, 71, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, February 1, 2004, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Binnix , officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on January 26, 1933, in Big Spring, and married Juanez Rogers on December 28, 1952 in the Fairview Community.Harold retired from Cosden Refinery after 30 years of service. He was a gunsmith, an expert marksman, an avid hunter and guide. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.He served in the United States Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in the atomic gun project. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #'s 598 and 992 and was Past Master of both lodges and also Past District Deputy of the Grand Lodge of Texas. Survivors include his wife, Juanez Broughton of Big Spring; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Alice Broughton of Abilene, and Bruce and Tina Broughton of Coahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Steve Johnson of Roswell, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Jaime and her husband Wayne Line of San Angelo, Shawna Broughton of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Kurt, Kami, and Korley Bennett of Coahoma, Audrey and Ashlea Johnson of Roswell, New Mexico; two great grandchildren, Kelli Paul and Trinity Tidwell both of San Angelo; two nephews, Elbert Long and Donnie Long both of Big Spring; and one sister-in-law, Theda Broughton of Big Spring; and five great nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Mae Broughton, one brother, J.W. Broughton; one sister, Mildred Denton; one grandson Weldon Bruce "Bo" Broughton, Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2003, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at their residence, 10507 Old Colorado City Highway.The family suggests memorials to: Midway Baptist Church, 6200 S.
