Big Spring Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg McAlister, passed away off duty in the early morning on August 31, 2024. He was a proud firefighter/medic for 22 years. He lived a life of service to his community, his friends, and his family.
Greg knew how to enjoy life and always had a smile on his face. He loved to make people laugh. His contagious laugh and goofy grin was cherished by all.
Greg was born October 8, 1982 in Houston, Texas to Stoney and Debbie McAlister. He graduated from Baytown Christian Academy in 2001, then went on to San Jacinto College to the Firefighters Training Academy and Howard College to obtain his Paramedic Certification.
Greg is survived by his wife Brittany Hankins McAlister, his parents Stoney and Debbie McAlister, his brother Ryan McAlister (Karen), his sister-in-law Kayla Ballew (Michael), his nieces Ashley McAlister, Ella Ballew; nephew Grant Ballew, and so many other extended family members that he loved and adored.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church at 10:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2024.
